In September, 1977 a "Congress of Concerned Churchmen" met in response to radical changes by the Episcopal Church in the US and the Anglican Church of Canada. The Congress, sponsored by The Fellowship of Concerned Churchmen, adopted a statement of traditional Anglican principles. That statement is referred to as The Affirmation of St. Louis.
