Sunday Adult Bible Study
Teaching Leader: Jim Berkley
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2nd Timothy, 3:16-17, KJV)
This Biblical statement is the foundation of our Adult Bible Study Class which meets regularly on Sunday following our Worship
Service and social time. Because the Bible is the Word of God, everyone who participates can benefit. A working knowledge of
Scripture stabilizes and supports God’s people. It equips us to love and worship God, minister to others, live in an upright and
Godly manner, make wise decisions, deal with sin, and withstand the ups and downs that occur in our lives.
Bible Study refreshes and enforces our understanding of Christian Doctrine and reveals truths we may have previously ignored.
The Old and New Testaments reveal to us the character of God; His nature as Three Persons of the Trinity; His divine judgment
of sin and disobedience; the sacrifice for the penalty of sin by our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His resurrection; God’s grace and eternal
blessing of faith to those who believe; and His coming Kingdom and Glory.
We invite you to come. In the past two years, we have studied the Gospel According to John; Paul’s Epistles to the Romans, 2nd
Timothy, the Galatians, and the Ephesians; and several of Christ’s Parables. Currently we are doing a short study on Repentance,
to be followed by another study on the Holy Spirit. Those two studies are to be followed by a series on Moses in the Pentateuch.
Our principal
focus in each has been correct doctrine and its application to our lives in a world largely ignorant of God’s Word, His
love, and His
Plan of Salvation available to each of us.
